What is bail?

Is the premium refundable?
The premium is generally earned when the defendant is released from custody and is not subject to return, even if the defendant is found innocent, the case is dismissed, or the defendant is later taken back into custody.
Who can post bail for me?
You may post bail for yourself, have someone over 18 post bail on your behalf, or use a professional bail bondsman. The person posting bail assumes responsibility for your appearance in court.
What does exoneration mean?
A bail bond is exonerated when the legal process has finished and the bond is discharged. Any unpaid premium, fees, or other amounts owed to the bail service provider may still remain due.
